Dozens of summer programs are available for youth including:All-Day Care, Enrichment Camps, Summer Camp, Sports and Athletics.  Registration is open or stars in February depending on the program. A summary of activity options, registration deadlines and scholarship information is available here.

Financial Assistance

Students in Edina have a variety of financial support opportunities to participate in Summer Activities.  Below are links to the various applications. Printed copies are also available at the Edina Resource Center.  Stop-In, Call or Email to get an application.  We are happy to assist you completing the applications.

Youth Enrichment Camps with Edina Community Ed- This scholarship is no longer available for 2019.

This summer hundreds of camps are offered for youth.  Search online starting Feb 1st. Registration opens Feb 19th.  The Summer Scholarship  for students entering grades K-8 this fall to access up to $650 from  Edina Give and Go and Edina Community Ed.  Apply early before funds are gone. Priority is given to applications received by March 15.

YMCA Day Camp Kici Yapi-This scholarship is no longer available for 2019.

Edina Students in financial needs are eligible to apply for a camp scholarship to attend Camp Kici Yapi.  You have the choice of camp weeks to attend. Each student is asked to contribute a deposit of $25 (K-5) and $40 (6-8).

Edina Community Ed

Provides financial assistance for those who are looking to participate in Edina Community Ed classes this summer.  Up to $150 is available for eligible persons.

Edina Give and Go

Provides scholarship grants for students to participate in academic, arts and athletic opportunities.  Families must demonstrate need by being within 200% of poverty level for their family size.

Edina Connect Card 

Assists students in Edina access various scholarships to participate in community activities including:

  • City of Edina Park and Recreation. Up to $300 per Family per year (good for registration, memberships, season passes (pool), community gardens or special events
  • Edina Basektball Association
  • Edina Football Association
  • Edina Girls Athletic Association
  • Edina Baseball Association
  • Southdale YMCA registration/programs

Summer Academic Enrichment Program for grades 3-11

Up to $1,000 for camps and programs are available. See the website for details.

Child Care Assistance Program

Financial Assistance to help those working, going to school or job searching cover child care expenses for children 13 years of age and under.   Child Care must be an approved provider.

Start by calling Hennepin County at 612-348-5937 to determine if you may be eligible and they will work with you for the next steps.
Process may take 4-6 weeks and there may be a wait list.


7th-12th graders who participate in school sports are required to have a sports physical every three years.  Schedule a Sports Physical with your Pediatrician or call for an appointment at upcoming Sports Physical clinic.  You cannot tryout or play on team until your physical is complete.
